Anti-static Measures: Before replacing the battery, be sure to wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic damage to the board.
Prevent Incorrect Connections: Please be aware that incorrect wiring between connectors may cause the board to burn out.
When a low battery warning occurs, the module cannot be pulled out automatically. Please follow the steps below to pull it out manually.
Preparation: Release the locking state of the solenoid valve (SOL valve) mounted on the base, then pull out the module. Before performing this operation, be sure to turn OFF the machine power.
Applicability: Follow the same basic steps for both M3 and M6 modules.
Key Reminder: As stated above, the machine power MUST be OFF when performing this operation.
1) For M3 Module
Release the SOL valve of the corresponding slot on the module.
Steps:
Perform the front/rear release operation for module ① on the L (or R) side. B: Click "Release".
Perform the release operation for module ② on the L (or R) side. B: Click "Release".
After completing the above steps, the module can be pulled out manually.
2) For M6 Module
Release the SOL valves on both the L and R sides.
Steps:
Perform the front/rear release operation for module ① on the L side. B: Click "Release".
Perform the release operation for module ② on the L side. B: Click "Release".
Perform the front/rear release operation for module ① on the R side. B: Click "Release".
Perform the release operation for module ② on the R side. B: Click "Release".
After completing the above steps, the module can be pulled out manually.

The battery built into the CPU board retains the following information even when the power is OFF.
Information retained even when power is OFF (Module)
Various inherent values:
Matrix data
Feeder station tilt data
Auto-calibration results
Module function settings
Production board information:
Production Job name
Production information
Profiler information
Production end sequence information
Information retained even when power is OFF (Base)
Network settings
Warning:
If the CPU board's built-in battery is depleted, all of the above information will be lost, and the machine cannot continue production. After replacing the CPU board battery, the following tasks MUST be performed.
Required tasks after battery replacement (Module)
Load Matrix data
Load Feeder station tilt data
Remove nozzles from the work head
Remove any board being processed
Transfer the Job
Re-execute calibration (perform calibration command)
Required tasks after battery replacement (Base)
Re-configure Network settings
![]()
Important Note:
DO NOT start the machine until all of the above required tasks are completed. Because the various inherent values are in an undefined state, there is a risk of mechanical collision.
After completing the Matrix data loading, proceed to load the Feeder station tilt data. Steps:
Confirm the Module's serial number (manufacturing number).
Prepare the floppy disk (FD) containing the Feeder station tilt data that was supplied with the module upon purchase.
Execute the self-diagnosis command on the module in Manual mode. Wait until the icon on the screen enters the state shown in figure "c" below.
Use the support software to directly load the Feeder station tilt measurement software:
Remote Operation -> Direct Load -> Feeder Station Tilt Measurement Software -> Start Load
After direct loading finishes, start the Feeder station tilt measurement software.
Use the support software to load the Feeder station tilt data:
Inherent Value Management -> Measure Feeder Station Tilt ※ (※ Double-check the module serial number)
After the data loading is complete, turn OFF the power switch.
Turn the power switch back ON, then start the normal application program. The Feeder station tilt data is now saved.
Note: For modules that did not have the Feeder station tilt measurement performed, disable the function by setting the following:
Module Function Settings -> Set Feeder Pick Height -> Select Design Value Standard
If nozzles are attached to the work head, remove them manually. Place the removed nozzles back into the nozzle station.
If a board is present inside the machine, remove it. If the board is clamped, execute the "Remove Board" command in Manual mode.
Since the Job name has been lost, transfer the previous Job again. If other modules are currently in production, transfer this Job as a "Reserved Job" and switch it on the machine.
After battery replacement, the auto-calibration results are also undefined. Use the support software to issue the re-calibration command:
Inherent Value Management -> Re-execute Calibration Command ※
※ Precautions:
Prepare calibration jig nozzles, as automatic calibration will be performed.
To preheat the camera, turn on the power and wait for more than 30 minutes before pressing the start switch.
After issuing the "Re-execute Calibration Command", press the module's Start switch. The machine will perform automatic calibration.
Note: If the machine's accuracy was achieved using "Manual Final Offset", perform PAM (Precision Adjustment Measurement) after the automatic calibration finishes and re-calculate the final offset.
After battery replacement, the network settings become undefined and must be re-configured.
Case A: When settings can be configured on the module
Occasionally, if the settings were initialized, the following screen may appear on the module after turning the power ON.
![]()
Confirm the original network setting values for the base (※ It is recommended to keep a written record or backup of these settings).
Use the direction keys and "OK" button to set the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway.
Cycle the power switch (Turn OFF, then ON again).
If a DNS server or Host Name needs to be specified, use the following tool from the installation CD※:
Installation CD path: NXTNetworkSetting.exe
※ For usage of NetworkSetting.exe, refer to the online manual available from the support software: "NXT System Manual: 8.3 Using NetworkSetting".
After completing the network settings, cycle the power switch again.
Case B: When network settings are undefined and communication is impossible
If the network settings are undefined, making it impossible to configure on the module, and also impossible to communicate with the base to use NetworkSetting.exe, use the following tool from the installation CD※:
Installation CD path: NXTToolTcpIpSetting.exe
※ For usage of TcpIpSetting.exe, refer to the online manual available from the support software: "NXT System Manual: 8.8 Using TcpIpSetting" for the procedure.
